MOTORCYCLE trainers are being offered free learning packs which teach new riders how to survive the challenges they will face on the region’s road.
The Know the Dangers pack was developed by road safety professionals from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire to help new help riders understand the dangers they will face.
Trainers are being encouraged to use the pack with new riders who are undergoing the Compulsory Basic Training course they must complete before riding on public roads.
Andy Adlington, Derby and Derbyshire road safety partnership’s motorcycle project officer, said: “Motorcyclists are vulnerable – all they’ve got to protect them is their skills and their riding gear. We hope that the Know the Dangers learning pack will help new riders to stay safe on our roads.
“The pack explores the real-life challenges that new riders are likely to face when they are out on our roads.
