A SERIES of workshops are to be run by South Yorkshire Police to help keep motorcyclists safe on the county’s roads.
The first BikeSafe course is to be run on July 24 and there are further sessions planned for August and September.
Sergeant Graham Sayner, head of the South Yorkshire Police’s Motorcycle Wing, said: “As a motorcycle rider you are more vulnerable than many other road users.
“In South Yorkshire alone there were 67 motorcyclists killed or seriously injured in 2010.
“The idea behind the BikeSafe workshops is to remind riders of the ways they can protect themselves on the road, progress to further rider training and ultimately make their riding experience more enjoyable.”
