A FAMILY fun day marked the opening of Sheffield’s newest park which - which cost £360,000.
Heathlands Park, Halfway, includes play areas, football pitch, seating area, community space, wildlife areas and orchard.
The event was opened by former world champion boxer Clinton Woods, who lives nearby.
Coun Leigh Bramall, Sheffield Council cabinet member for environment, said: “It’s great to see another green space opened to enhance the city’s reputation as this country’s greenest city. Local people had their say on all the facilities included in the park and there are lots of exciting activities on offer, so I am sure the park will be really welcome by everyone in this part of the city.”
