A woman who says she was repeatedly raped as a 13-year-old in Rotherham said her experiences as a child have 'destroyed' her life.
The woman, giving evidence for the third day at Sheffield Crown Court, said she or her parents had not made any financial gain from her speaking about her experiences.
The court has previously heard she first made allegations to police of being repeatedly raped and physically attacked as a 13-year-old girl in 2003 but no case proceeded. She spoke again to officers in 2013, leading to a new investigation.
She said: "This has destroyed my life. I would have gone on to university.
"It took away a part of me I will never get back. I have fought for 13 years."
Michelle Colborne QC, prosecuting, said defence barristers have suggested the woman had up allegations for money, including writing a book about her experiences. She asked the woman what the purpose of writing a book had been,
The woman said she had wanted to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation.
She said: "I just wanted to help someone. Even if one person reads my book and it changed their life.
"I'm not and have been JK Rowling, I have never made money from this.
"I have helped lots of victims, it has turned their lives around. They have gone back into education."
