SHEFFIELD event Music in the Gardens raised £58,750 for charity, organisers have revealed.

The impressive sum – £14,000 more than was raised last year – came in through ticket sales, advertising and direct donations on the three nights of the event.

Music in the Gardens featured Paul Carrack, Courtney Pine, Keith Peters Big Band, Omar Puente, Dodworth Colliery Band and the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra.

The proceeds will be divided between Help for Heroes, Shelterbox, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
