A man arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following a row and a collision in a street remains in police custody this morning.
The 23-year-old was arrested yesterday and held overnight by detectives investigating the death of 37-year-old Richard Broughton, who was struck by a car in Welland Crescent, Elsecar, Barnsley, on Friday.
South Yorkshire Police said there had been an altercation before the collision.
The car involved was later found abandoned in the Shaftesbury Drive area.
