SHEFFIELD mum Nicolette Williams has thanked the ‘unseen and unheard’ people who have helped her vision of a war memorial in Shiregreen Cemetery become a reality.

Nicolette, whose airman son Christopher Bridge was killed in Afghanistan in 2007, raised £35,000 for the memorial, helped by Ann Fellows, who lost her Royal Marine son Steven Jamie Fellows in the war the following year.

Nicolette said she would like to thank Alexander Hanson, who ‘put his heart and soul’ into designing the memorial, McGrandles builders who erected it, council officials, people who donated and those who attended the launch.
