A Sheffield charity organiser rubbed shoulders with the stars at the Tesco Mum of the Year awards.
Sandra Howard, aged 60, was presented with her charitable mum award at a ceremony at London’s The Savoy Hotel last night, which was presented by Zoe Ball.
Sandra, from Walkley, was selected for the prize after launching the Fable charity dedicated to people with epilepsy and their families.
Ms Howard has helped raise £3 million to fund its work.
Sandra’s eldest son Gareth has suffered from epilepsy since birth and 19 years ago, she began fundraising to have a procedure for Gareth to have a vagus nerve stimulator fitted. After Gareth had an operation, Sandra used the money she had raised to found her charity.
