BUDDING Sheffield politician Harrison Carter is joining forces with the city’s MPs to hold a series of surgeries for young people.
Harrison, who is a Sheffield member of the UK Youth Parliament, hopes to hold the events with all six Sheffield MPs.
He has already agreed dates with four of them.
Harrison said: “In July and August myself, other members of the UK Youth Parliament and also youth councillors will be holding joint constituency surgeries with Sheffield’s Members of Parliament.
“With these events, we hope to promote involvement of young people and offer them the chance to question their elected representatives.”
The first surgery, with Penistone and Stocksbridge MP Angela Smith, will be at Ms Smith’s constituency office, on Manchester Road, Stocksbridge, on Friday, June 17, from 2.30pm.
The youth councillors and parliamentarians will join Heeley MP Meg Munn at Woodseats Library on Friday, July 8, at 3.30pm.
The next surgery, with David Blunkett, who represents Shiregreen and Brightside, will be at Remington Youth and Community Centre, Remington Road, Parson Cross, on Wednesday, July 27, at 2pm.
A surgery with South East MP Clive Betts, will be at Crystal Peaks Library Arts Space, on July 29, at 5pm.
