MP hits out on appointment

A SOUTH YORKSHIRE MP criticised Tory rivals for opposing the appointment of an academic to oversee efforts to ensure ‘fair access’ to higher education.

Labour MP Paul Blomfield called the attempt to block University of Bedfordshire Vice-Chancellor Professor Les Ebdon from being installed as Director of the Office for Fair Access ‘a political ambush’.
