LABOUR MP Paul Blomfield is backing a celebration of the incredible work 60,000 carers in Sheffield do every day of the year.
The Sheffield Central MP is supporting Carers Week, marked from June 13 to 19, to recognise the sacrifices family members make to care for loved ones.
Mr Blomfield, who is an ambassador for the Sheffield Carers Centre, said: “Carers UK estimate over 60,000 people in Sheffield sacrifice not only their time, but also their money and their health, to care for a loved one, an increase of eight per cent in the last decade.
“Caring can be incredibly demanding but carers don’t have to struggle alone. Sheffield Carers Centre offers emotional support and practical help in getting services and I would encourage carers to get in touch with them.”
