ROTHERHAM MP Denis MacShane has registered his mobile phone on a national database aimed at making it easier for people to be reunited with lost or stolen property.

He logged his phone with the free national database Immobilise at a fair in Ferham Park, Rotherham, where police gave crime prevention advice, handed out safety equipment including personal alarms, and property marking pens.

PCSO James Thorpe said: “We registered over 20 phones, including MP Denis MacShane’s, and handed out over 200 information packs.

“It was a great day to promote personal safety and remind people of what is available to them to avoid becoming a victim of crime.” Visit www.southyorks.police.uk/campaigns.
