A pioneering service which supports Sheffield’s older population has been visited by MP Paul Blomfield nearly four years after he launched the project.
The Sheffield Central MP went back to see the Independent Living Coordination service, which is run by Age UK Sheffield.
Its aim is help people who have long-term illness, lower resilience or reduced capability to manage everyday life or self-care.
Independent living coordinators work to find solutions to whatever problems are affecting someone’s ability to self-manage and live independently.
Mr Blomfield launched the original pilot in 2011 and was keen to hear how the project has grown and the positive impact it has had on the people who use it.
