MP's Burma refugees talk
A PERSECUTED group of Burmese refugees, now living in Sheffield, met with Heeley MP Meg Munn to discuss the situation in Burma.
The group, all from the Karen region of Burma, fled to Sheffield after being persecuted by the military government.
Ms Munn met with the people to find out their views on the increase in violence and intimidation in Burma in recent months.
She said: "The Karen people I met are very grateful that they are safe and able to live in Sheffield. However they do fear for the lives and conditions of the people back in Burma and Thailand.''
