Barnsley East MP Michael Dugher has nominated a number of caring individuals from the borough for local awards.
The Proud of Barnsley Awards highlight the work of those who make a difference to the borough.
Mr Dugher has nominated Steve Clifford, Dave Pearsall and John Backhouse in the community group category for their work to organise the town’s annual music festival, Live In Barnsley.
For volunteer of the year he put forward Mike Bretton, for his dedication to the Friends of Wombwell Cemetery group.
His charity fundraiser nomination went to Allan and Carolyn Cooper, for their efforts to raise cash for the Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support charity.
And his nomination for triumph over adversity was for Angie and Tony Russell, for setting up mental health charity Reflections Art in Health.
