Don Valley MP Caroline Flint has joined postal workers at a Royal Mail Delivery Office sorting and delivering the Christmas post.

Caroline joined Elaine Stevens, who has delivered for Royal Mail for six years, in Conisbrough to deliver Christmas post on her rounds.

Caroline said: “This is the busiest time of year for postmen and women, doing a fantastic job delivering huge amounts of mail and parcels.

“Postal workers like Elaine do such an important job at this time of year. It is obvious that Elaine knew so many of her customers, and was never in too much hurry to stop and say hello. People even came out of the house to greet her.

“While we all think of taking a few days holiday, I hope we all spare a thought for Elaine, her colleagues and the many people doing important jobs to keep things going over the festive period.”

Erin Theobold, Royal Mail Delivery Office Manager at Conisbrough, commented: “Our postmen and women are working extremely hard to deliver Christmas cards, letters and parcels to people across Conisbrough. We are grateful that Caroline visited the office to see our operation and to say hello to the team during our busiest time of year.”
