TALKS are to take place involving a Sheffield MP in a bid to save threatened jobs at an engineering firm.
Clive Betts, Labour MP for Sheffield South East, is travelling to Daventry to meet management from engine maker Cummins, after the company removed the bulk of its supply contract with the Bifrangi works on Grange Mill Lane, Blackburn.
Bifrangi has notified the Government that it intends to make up to 50 redundancies. It employs 121 staff at the site. Cummins has bought crankshafts from the works for the last 40 years but is looking to transfer its orders abroad.
