Volunteers from Buxton Mountain Rescue Team completed a 40-mile sponsored walk in the Peak District to raise cash.
Three teams took part in the ‘Four Inns Walk’, on moorland terrain including Bleaklow and Kinder Scout, with one of them finishing despite being diverted to a rescue incident on the northern edge of Kinder Scout, involving six young people taking part in a Duke of Edinburgh Expedition.
The walk started in Holmebridge, West Yorkshire, and finished in Buxton, Derbyshire.
A team spokesman said: “The walk was a great success with an amazing sense of achievement for those taking part, their supporting colleagues who provided refreshments at various stops en-route and to everyone who offered support with texts and shouts of encouragement.
“The GPS tracker system we had set up was popular, allowing all to see where the three teams were.
Sponsorship is still being counted, but at least £500 is thought to have been raised.
