Members of the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called out to Kinder Scout in the Peak District to help locate walkers that had become lost after dark.

The two adults had left the Snake Inn on the A57 during Saturday afternoon to visit a landmark on the Northern Edges of Kinder Scout, but called rescuers for assistance when darkness set in and they became lost.

The pair were found in the plateau groughs above Fairbrook Clough. They were checked on site, warmed-up and walked backed to their vehicle on the Snake Road in Hope Valley, unharmed.

Rescuers were also called out to reports of an injured women on the south side of Monsal Dale in the Peak District this morning.

They were stood down enroute after an air ambulance managed to reach the lady and air-lift her to hospital for specialist care.
