A ROTHERHAM man had to be rescued after he fell while out walking in the Peak District on Saturday afternoon.
The joint Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Teams’ Snatch Squad was called to Edale following reports of an injured walker on Kinder Scout.
They found the man, aged 64, at the top of Golden Clough.He had slipped and fallen about two metres, landing on boulders.
The man suffered leg and head injuries.
He was treated on site by a doctor from the air ambulance and was then carried on a stretcher by team members to the helicopter, 500 metres away.
The patient was then flown to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield for further treatment.
