TWO Sheffield students found an unpleasant surprise when they tucked into a bag of crisps – a mouldy, mystery object which they think could be a piece of meat.

Colin Evans, 20, and Latifa Boujnah, 18, of Gleadless, bought a multipack containing 26 bags of Snackrite crisps from Aldi on The Moor in Sheffield city centre.

The pair munched away happily until Colin opened a packet of Worcester sauce crisps and discovered the mysterious object.

“It made me feel a bit sick,” Colin told The Star. “It’s put me off crisps.”

The pair contacted Aldi, who said they would send the object off for scientific tests.

A spokeswoman for Aldi said: “We are keen to have this product analysed. We would of course be happy to offer a full refund.”
