Motorists warned roadworks will cause delays

SHEFFIELD Council is warning motorists of the latest roadworks and traffic disruptions over the next few days.

Today, work is being completed at Queen Street, Mosborough, where a water main burst.

And tomorrow Fulwood Road in Broomhill will have temporary parking restrictions between Crookes Road and Taptonville Road in front of the shops for the Broomhill Show.

Most works are on Sunday, involving temporary closure of Fife Street, Wincobank; Furnival Street in the city centre, Longley Lane on Longley and Woodseats Road, at the railway bridge off Abbeydale Road, until 7.45am.

The same day, lane closures will apply on Halifax Road, Foxhill, Prince of Wales Road, Manor, and Queens Road, Lowfield. There will be stop-go boards on Station Road, Mosborough, and Nether Edge Road is closed for a farmers’ market.

From Monday to Wednesday, Drake House Lane, Crystal Peaks, has stop-go boards, Abbeydale Road South has temporary signals from Monday to Thursday at off-peak times.

Bawtry Road, Tinsley, has temporary traffic signals from Monday to Friday, and temporary lights also operate on Whitehouse Lane, Langsett estate, daily from Monday until October 9.

Temporary signals are also on Main Road, Darnall, at off-peak times on Wednesday and on Rother Valley Way, Holbrook, from Wednesday to Friday.
