THE A628 near Tintwistle - between South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester - is to be closed for roadworks.
The Highways Agency, which operates the Woodhead route, is to repair Crowden Brook Bridge - a few miles east of Tintwistle - for a fortnight beginning on Monday, February 13.
Phase one, where scaffolding will be erected, will take place during off-peak hours with temporary traffic lights between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day to manage traffic.
The second, due to last about six nights and when the actual repairs will be carried out, will start on Friday, February 17.
There will be temporary traffic lights to be in operation around the clock.
Three total closures of the bridge will also be taking place between 10pm and 5.30am on Monday, February 13; Thursday, February 16 and Friday, February 24.
When the bridge is closed diversions will be in place via the B1605 and A57.
