SEVERAL major routes around Sheffield will be affected by roadworks.

Chesterfield Road will have a lane closure at Heeley, near the junction with Saxon Road, for maintenance work, on Sunday. Saxon Road will be closed.

Roads around Meadowhall will be affected by communications work on Sunday, with Meadowhall Drive one-way only, and a temporary lane closure on Meadowhall Way, at the junction with Meadowhall Drive, for telecoms work.

Temporary stop-go boards will operate on Owlthorpe Greenway, Westfield, for telecoms work from Sunday to Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the A625 Hathersage Road will have temporary traffic lights between Stoney Ridge Road and Whitelow Lane to install an underground electric main, from Monday until July 11.

Other roadworks include temporary traffic lights outside the Asda site on Chaucer Road, Parson Cross, from Monday to Friday next week, closure of Langsett Avenue, Hillsborough, for resurfacing, also next Monday to Friday, and an orienteering event means Greaves Lane, High Green, will be closed from 5pm on Saturday until 5pm on Sunday.

Sharrowvale Road is to be shut between Junction Road and Cowlishaw Road for a street market on Sunday.

And Richmond Road, Richmond, will have temporary stop and go boards for telecoms work for eight days from Monday.
