Motorists involved in a collision which closed the M1 in South Yorkshire escaped without serious injuries.

A white Skoda Superb, a red Citroen Berlingo van and a DAF lorry were involved in a crash close to junction 31 for Aston at around 7.25am on Thursday.

The motorway was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the incident.
