Tributes: Flowers mark the spot where the 34-year-old died.

FLOWERS mark the spot where a South Yorkshire man died after his car was in collision with a bus.

Police are appealing for information after the 34-year-old man died in the two-vehicle collision on Chapeltown Road, Ecclesfield, on Friday, night

The accident occurred at 7.05pm when a blue and white double decker bus was on the A6135 Chapeltown Road, travelling from Chapeltown towards Ecclesfield on the correct side of the carriageway.

The man was driving a white Nissan Micra in the opposite direction.

When the vehicles were about 50 metres from the Ecclesfield side of the junction with Crakehall Road, the Micra crossed the carriageway into path of bus .

Police say the Micra driver, who is from the Rotherham area, suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene.

Yesterday a bunch of yellow roses marked the spot.

The bus driver, 63, from Sheffield, was not hurt.

Witnesses should call police on 101 quoting incident number 967 of December 16.
