Most pupils had right uniform

Have your say

THE first week of September and The Star publishes a story about students being sent home from school for wearing the wrong piece of uniform.

As a parent of a child at Forge Valley, I received details of the uniform well in advance of the school opening via letters and the school’s website. I was also handed full particulars at one of a number of special information evenings last term.

If the parent(s) of the boys in the article had taken notice of the information available they would not find their sons being sent home for wearing inappapropriate footwear.

The students and parents were given clear notice that students would be sent home if they did not comply with the school’s uniform requirements and I applaud Diane McKinlay for taking this stance.

Over 1,000 pupils started at Forge Valley and the vast majority managed to purchase and wear the correct uniform. I am disappointed that the article fails to report that Forge Valley opened last week.
