More snow on way today and tomorrow

FURTHER snow showers are set to fall today and tomorrow - but are unlikely to be heavy enough to cause disruption, weather forecasters have said.

Sleet and wet snow fell during yesterday and Meteo Group forecaster Billy Payne said the wintry weather is set to continue.

She said: "Today could see further wintry showers of sleet or wet snow but they should not be disruptive or provide much accumulation. At other times, it will be fairly bright with some sunshine.

"Tomorrow will be a similar story, starting dry and bright with some wintry showers during the day. Temperatures on both days will be around three to four degrees centigrade."

Ms Payne said the temperature will fall below freezing overnight, but only as low as minus two.

She added the weather will remain similar for the rest of the week.
