I was interested in your article regarding gritting. I live at Crookes, one of the highest and coldest places in Sheffield. Last winter we had no gritting, (we are not a priority), Lydgate Lane, Rulehouse Road and Cross Lane were sheets of black ice. The buses not running.
The council has donated £50,000 to the refugee council and money to the University to make sure the students can walk in safety around the University!
When I write to the council about this money it is from another fund. Where is the funding for Sheffield people to walk in safety in bad weather? This lack of gritting also happened in Crosspool and Lodge Moor. The local councilors do nothing. As for the morons in the town hall. That is why big businesses are putting money in Leeds, Manchester and Bradford.
