THIS was the moment armed police swooped on a house and arrested four more men in connection with an armed robbery at a South Yorkshire bank.
A G4S security van loaded with cash was ambushed outside the Royal Bank of Scotland, High Street, Swallownest, on Tuesday morning.
A gang of robbers, believed to have been armed with machetes escaped with a ‘large quantity’ of cash.
Detectives investigating the robbery arrested four suspects, aged 17, 19, 21 and 22, on Thursday and made four more arrests yesterday in Swallownest.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police arrested another four men in connection to the armed robbery and other burglary-related offences.
“The four men are all in their mid thirties and one man has been bailed, the remaining three are currently in custody.”
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Robinson said: “We have had a good response from members of the public and this police action is due to the on-going hard work and dedication of the officers investigating this armed robbery. I want to reassure members of the public that we are doing everything we can to ensure those responsible for this armed robbery are caught and brought to justice.”
