ASTRONOMERS are giving people the chance to see the surface of the moon with a series of public viewing events at a South Yorkshire observatory.
Mexborough and Swinton Astronomical Society are organising the sessions at the JA Jones Observatory, in Lea Brook Lane, Hoober, Wentworth.
Forthcoming sessions are on January 28, February 24, and March 30.
A spokesman said: “The dates have been chosen to give a phase of the moon at its optimum, therefore giving our visitors a very good image of the surface with all its craters and mountains.”
People attending will be charged £3.50 per person.
