Ikea says it will be months before a date for work to start on its long-awaited Sheffield site is likely to be confirmed.
Plans for the superstore on the old Tinsley Wire factory off Sheffield Road were approved by the city council earlier this year and given the final green light by Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles in August.
Detailed designs for the store and for the highways works nearby are still being worked on.
A spokesman for Ikea said: “At this stage the team is working on detailed designs for the store as well as designs for the highways works, which need to be completed before the store can open.
“So at this stage it is still far too early to say when works may start or the store will open.”
