Generous South Yorkshire families who visited Gulliver’s theme parks helped to raise more than £2,000 for national children’s charity Dreams Come True.

Customers donated cash to the charity through collection pots and special ‘dream ponds’ at parks including Matlock Bath in Derbyshire, a favourite with Sheffield families.

Two more dream ponds are yet to be emptied.

The money has been added to more than £8,000 raised by Gulliver’s staff through a series of fundraising events throughout 2011.

Dreams Come True organises surprises for children with both life-threatening and long-term illness to make their lives and those of their families a little easier.
