A mobility scooter user was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Rotherham.

The 78-year-old man was left with life threatening injuries following the collision in Clifton Lane, Rotherham, at 1.10pm on Tuesday.

Police and emergency services were alerted to the collision and an investigation into the circumstances is now underway.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “At around 1.10pm it is reported that a red Audi A3 was travelling along Clifton Lane towards Wellgate, when it was in collision with a red mobility scooter.

“The rider of the mobility scooter, a 78-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.”

Witnesses or anyone with information about the crash should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
