THE body of a man found in woodland in Sheffield has been identified as father-of-two David Matthew Hodgson, who vanished from home.
Mr Hodgson, aged 48, from Arnold Avenue, Charnock, Sheffield, was reported missing from home on Wednesday, October 26.
Although a body was found close to his home on the border between Sheffield and Derbyshire four weeks later, specialist forensic tests had to be carried out to identify the remains.
Yesterday, South Yorkshire Police, whose officers led the search for the HR professional, confirmed that the body had been officially identified and Mr Hodgson’s relatives had been informed.
An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.
