In a recent edition of The Star there was an article about firefighters being attacked with bricks and eggs, just after they had attended a fire.
In recent years this has been on the increase with attacks on the other emergency services, such as ambulance and police force.
Have these mindless yobs ever stopped to think that they themselves could be trapped in a blazing car, house, factory or find themselves in some other perilous situation?
They would soon come yelling for someone to come to their rescue.
To add insult to injury some bureaucrats are wanting to make severe cuts to these vital services, but of course I expect none of these have ever been in the front line of battle themselves.
All the emergency services are stretched to the limit as it is, and deserve the highest accolade for their bravery and expertise.
