BELLY dancer Sophie Mei will be joining people from across South Yorkshire at the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk 2011.
The Britain’s Got Talent star is officially opening the event at Rother Valley Country Park on September 11.
Dementia sufferers, carers, volunteers and staff from the Alzheimers Society will come together to complete the walk and raise money for the charity.
There are three different routes to chose from, and there will be stalls, refreshments and games for all the family.
Sophie said: “I think inclusive events like the Memory Walk are a great way to get people active, sociable and most of all discussing dementia. “I teach belly dance and Zumba lessons and I know that keeping my body and mind active are essential to achieve good holistic health.”
The Alzheimer’s Society wants to see as many people at the event as possible.
