A COMMUNITY will come together to remember a popular boy who died last year.
Sonny Tomlinson, aged 12, died in October last year after losing his battle with the degenerative disease muscular dystrophy.
His friends and neighbours will gather at 1.30pm on Friday to plant a magnolia tree near his home in the play area near Fife Street and Stanwell Avenue.
“He was well-liked in the community” said Anne Bentley of the Lower Wincobank Tenants Association.
“He used to bomb around in his wheelchair and everyone would stop and chat. Then he suddenly died and a sadness covered the whole area.”
