Means testing is degrading

Have your say

in your article on dementia tax, Eddie Sherwood, the director of Care and Support says 35% of customers ‘will not be affected and will not have to pay any extra’.

But why does he not tell the truth?

That 65% are going to be affected, are going to worry and are going to be upset?

Finally he says: “No one will be asked to pay if they are not in a position to do so.”

Now here is a question from me. Why, in our modern-day society do the Government and councils still rely on that old, antiquated Victorian system called means testing? It is degrading and insulting and I wonder if it contravenes European Human Rights Act.
