Football fans have helped raise more than £1,000 for a Sheffield hospice by taking part in a charity tournament.
More than 200 Meadowhall workers took part in the four month competition in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.
The tournament was held at Goals Soccer Centre, Norfolk Park, and there are hopes it will become an annual event to raise cash for charity.
Dean Checkett, Meadowhall’s duty manager, who organised the tournament, said: “The whole tournament was a fantastic success from start to finish.
“We’re so pleased that some many people got involved, enjoyed themselves and to have raised over £1,000 for such a worthwhile charity is a great achievement.
“On behalf of the Meadowhall team, I want to say a massive thanks to all the retailers and staff who took part and helped make it happen, alongside Darnall United.
“Not only did we raise vital funds for a charity that is dear to us all - it united the vast amount of employees over a good game of football.”
St Luke’s Hospice in Whirlow was named Meadowhall’s charity of the year in January 2014.
