apprentices who have completed a horticultural placement with Rotherham Council are to be congratulated by the town’s Mayor.

Coun Shaun Wright is returning to his horticultural roots when he visits Clifton Park to meet Joe Turner and Patrick Davis, who have just completed a 12 month placement in the 54-acre park.

The pair have gained their Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Amenity Horticulture at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology.

He will also meet their replacements, Joe Rodgers and Kyle Campbell, who have started the 12 month course.

The Mayor will hear how the two newcomers will be taking over park duties, including planting-up the six metre long and four metre high carpet bed near the main entrance.

Coun Wright said the meeting will bring back memories because he has worked in urban green spaces for nearly 30 years.
