A CHARITY offering therapy and counselling to people with cancer in Sheffield is in line for a major financial boost.
Cavendish Cancer Care, Wilkinson Street, Broomhall, has been chosen as the main beneficiary of the 2012 Master Cutler’s Challenge.
Master Cutler Pam Liversidge said Sheffield and the wider region was fortunate to be blessed with Cavendish Cancer Care.
Each year, the Master Cutler, the head of The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, challenges local businesses to generate as much money as possible through fun and creative activities from a £50 loan.
Funds raised are donated to a charity of the Master Cutler’s choice, generating tens of thousands of pounds.
This year, lead sponsors Ant Marketing and Irwin Mitchell are loaning each team the start-up stake.
Ant Marketing has also pledged to sign up other firms before the official launch on Monday, March 5, in a bid to see more than 100 companies enrolled.
Sally Eustace, partnership manager at Cavendish Cancer Care, said: “This is a very important year for Cavendish, one that should mean we can expand our services to even more families.
“The Master Cutler’s Challenge represents a huge opportunity for us to be able to help more families than ever before.”
