Masked man raids South Yorkshire off-licence

A MASKED robber armed with a knife is being hunted by police after holding up two shop workers in a terrifying raid.

The man, described by his victims as ‘aggressive’, brandished the knife while making demands for money after bursting into Booze Barn on Rawmarsh Hill, Parkgate, Rotherham.

He struck when there were no customers inside and escaped with a small amount of cash.

The robber was in his late teens to mid 20s, slim to medium build and wearing a dark blue Adidas top, balaclava, camouflage or patterned gloves and dark jogging bottoms.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A man carrying a knife and wearing a balaclava, entered the premises, when it was empty of customers.

“The man approached two members of staff, a man and a woman, in an aggressive manner, brandishing the knife and made demands for money.

“No one was hurt during the incident but staff members were left very shaken by their ordeal.”
