Marathon Man John is at it again!
HE'S on the road again!'Marathon Man With A Pram' John Burkhill is pounding the pavements once more in his latest charity challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 71-year-old from Richmond was set on his way by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun Alan Law yesterday, departing from Sheffield on a whopping 56-mile walk to York.
On his arrival there tomorrow, John - who is a well-known face around Sheffield thanks to his green wig and decorated pram - will take part in a 10km race organised in memory of cancer patient and fundraiser Jane Tomlinson.
This will be the 835th race he has taken part in for Macmillan.
John said: "I am slowly edging forward to my target of 1,000 races and raising a quarter of a million pounds for charity."
Over the years he has raised thousands of pounds for the charity, inspired by the memory of his late wife June who died from cancer aged just 55 in 1989.
