British Transport Police has released an image of a man they believe could have vital information about the theft of a mobile phone.

The black Motorola Moto G mobile phone was taken from a table on the 7.05am Virgin East Coast Trains service from King’s Cross to Leeds on Monday, 23 March at around 8.38am.

Inspector Graham Bridges said: “The victim left her mobile phone on the table. A man sat opposite her and got up to leave the train at Doncaster, at which point she noticed that her phone was missing. She rang the phone and heard it ring down the carriage.

“We urge the man in the CCTV or anyone who recognises him to come forward to assist us with our enquiries.”
