Man fights for life after falling out of taxi

A MAN was fighting for life today after falling out of a taxi in Sheffield in the early hours of this morning.

The 19-year-old Sheffield man, who has not been named, suffered life threatening head injuries after falling from a black cab on White lane, Gleadless.

South Yorkshire Police said the taxi had pulled up in a lay-by near the junction with Briarfield Lane at around 4.05am and several men got out.

As the cab was pulling away the man fell out.

He is being treated in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Officers want to hear from witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw anything leading up to it.
