A GUNMAN responsible for the shooting of a former Sheffield boxer remains at large.

Jak Hibbert, aged 25, from Greenhill, was blasted in the legs while drinking in The White Swan pub, on Greenhill Main Road, on the evening of Friday, May 13.

Mr Hibbert was treated at the Northern General Hospital, where he had to undergo an operation after suffering gunshot wounds to his legs.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are ongoing but no arrests have been made.”

Mr Hibbert’s friend, professional boxer Wayne Reed, aged 23, said: “He has been released from hospital.”

Mr Hibbert had seven professional fights as a boxer, with his last bout at the Octagon Centre in 2006, losing to Lee Noble. He trains young people involved in the sport.
