A man was taken to hospital with a broken jaw and cheekbone after being assaulted inside a South Yorkshire bar.

A man was taken to hospital with a broken jaw and cheekbone after being assaulted inside a South Yorkshire bar.

Police received reports a 34-year-old man had been attacked inside Bar Bluu on Graham's Orchard in Barnsley at around 3am on Monday, May 15.

It's believed the victim was approached by a man in the bar, who then physically assaulted him leaving the 34-year-old with a broken jaw and cheekbone.

The attacker has been described as white, in his 20s, of an average build and with short blonde hair.

Officers investigating a reported assault in Barnsley are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
