A man was stabbed as he waited in a Sheffield sandwich shop.

The 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with a serious injury after he was assaulted in the shop on Herries Road - understood to be the Beres pork sandwich factory shop – at 1pm on Saturday.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed the 21-year-old man was standing in a sandwich shop in Herries Road when he was approached by another man who allegedly assaulted him.

“The man then fled the scene with two other males.

“The 21-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for a serious injury, believed to be a stab wound.”

Call police on 101 quoting incident 723 of July 26.
