A BANK worker was stabbed this morning in a botched armed robbery in Wheatley, Doncaster.
The member of staff, believed to be the manager, arrived to open the Lloyds TSB branch in Beckett Road to be confronted by two men armed with a knife and a gun.
They tried to gain access to the safe but were unsuccessful and left the bank in the manager’s blue 07-plate Ford Focus which was later found abandoned off Stafford Road.
The manager was stabbed twice in the leg and taken to hospital but his wounds are said not to be serious.
